My Calico Cat

I Have a calico Cat very quiet and shy.
He disappears when friends stop by.
They tease and ask, does he meow or cry,
Are we ever going to see this little guy?
His toys are scattered around on the floor.
I have padding on every corner and door
When you’re here in his presence,
Helpful things you should know.
Sit very still, be calm and pleasant,
His instincts tell if you’re friend or foe.
He’ll grab at your foot from under the couch,
Then grab the other before you say ouch!
Time has passed and my cat’s doing well,
He now wears a collar with a little bell.
So when he hides he’s not so hard to find,
That’s such a blessing cause he hides all the time.
I don’t let him out to play in the sun,
That’s hard for I know he would have fun.
He bumps into the chair slams into the wall
Doesn’t know which way to go when I call
He can be a handful but I don’t mind
My precious little calico cat is blind

Foot Note: I don't have a blind cat, I write poems.

Time To Wake Up!

It has been nice for my little Dixie this whole winter. This is how she has spent most of her days but now it's over. I intend to get both of
my cats up and moving, we've got lots of work to be done on our decks, it's Spring!

And they don’t like it!

They use to go out in much worse weather then this and stay out a good part of the day. This morning they went out and wanted right back in. They didn’t even care about all the birds at the new bird feeder I just hung up.

Where We've Been & What We've Been Doing

She loves the big plants

Both trying out the newly stripped deck.

She likes the new table with a shelf

Dixie likes it even better with a new bed

She likes the lights in this vase

Checking out the neighbors cat

It's nice on our deck

Summer's gone and it's November, oh what will we do now.

It's Nice to Have New

Dixie is so happy today, she finally got a new scratching bed!
See the old one in the background, she put up with that way too long.
Oh yes she is quite pleased,
and check out what else came with the scratching bed.
Looks like she's kinda likes that too.
Little Girl will settle for one of the boxes that brought the new stuff.
It's not because she prefers the box, it's because Dixie chases her off every time she try's to go over to the scratching bed or the tray & ball game.
Don't worry, I'll give Little Girl plenty of time to play with the new stuff while Dixie is outside tomorrow.

* Keep Them Safe And Warm *

Gulshat Gilmanova - Winter

My Cats by The Hearth

It’s cold outside, the wind is blowing

Freeze in the air, soon it will be snowing

Nothing can be better on this whole earth

Just watching my cats sleeping by the hearth

Many a cat would be filled with delight

To be in a warm cozy home for the night

But for them it’s just a dream far out of sight

Only abandonment is to be their plight

All I can offer is this plea to all of you

Can you adopt a cat, or maybe even two

If you have a cat, can you neuter or spayed

By doing this less cats have to be saved

I feel a shiver as I here the wind howl

Oh so many cats tonight out on the prowl

I am filled with thankfulness gaiety and mirth

As I gaze at my at my sleeping cats by the hearth
