We're Settled in Now

Good Day Friends !
I can almost count on it, the stray cat is I'm thinking no longer a stray. Every morning when I go out to my living room after feeding my cats and look out the window the stray is sleeping on the other chair on my porch. He or she looks up at me and lowers her head and goes back to sleep. When I first starting putting the cat food out the cat would go right over to it and start eating. Now she or he doesn't even go to the food until a bit later in the morning. I guess she's not starving anymore. I can tell she has gained a little weight too.

Guess What !

The stray came back after staying away for a day. At about eight in the morning as I was getting my coffee I heard her meowing and making funny noises. I know her meow so I knew it was her before I pulled back the drape. The funny noises I can't explain, it's like a chattering if that makes sense. Their she was staring right at the glass door. She didn't run away as I opened the drape either, that's nice. I got the pan of food and placed it on the same chair she is used to on my porch and went back to getting my most needed cup of coffee. I had my camera ready on my kitchen bar in case I saw her again and got a shot of her leaving my deck to go over to my porch where the food was. Here she is up close and moving quickly.

What Have I Started !

>This stray cat is quite vocal, as I wheeled myself into the living room this morning I heard the stray meowing. I knew it was the tan and white stray because every time I hear that familiar meow I see her. I pulled back the drape and there she was, sitting their looking in my sliding glass door. Pulling back the drape didn't frighten her at all surprised me. I got the pan of cat food and put it on the chair on my porch as I always do now. She went right to the porch,  jumped up on the chair and began to eat. I guess we now have a morning routine, that's nice. Why the "What Have I Started" . I went out on the porch to get the pan of cat food after the stray had finished and left and low and behold, a black cat with a white tipped tail ran out from under my porch and into the woods it went....what have I started.

We Are Making Progress!

The stray cat has been coming around our house now every day for about a week. As I had mentioned he or she is very thin but does look fairly good. No cuts, clear eyes, alert, and it's coat of fur looks good, it's just thin to where the ribs are slightly showing. Three days ago it came up on my deck. my two cats were their and no one growled, hissed, or ran away. They just sat there looking at each other.

I slowly opened the door and placed a pan of food on the chair. The stray jumped off the deck and went into the woods. I thought to myself, I'll put it out again early in the morning as I see the cat in the mornings in the yard. Next morning I placed a small dish of dry cat food on the chair on my deck and went about getting my cats fed and my breakfast. A little later as I was  looking out my window while finishing my coffee this is what I saw. Of course I quickly got my camera.

We Have a Stray

Well looks like this new blog is going to be interesting after all. I have been going through all the older hidden stories in my Fine Cats blog to post on here. I'm trying to post them in the order they were acted out, but low and behold something very interesting has been happening this past week. We have a very skinny stray coming around. When it was closer to the deck I didn't have my camera so by the time I got it the cat had moved away from the deck and hid behind a tree and Dixie was observing it's every move. Little girl was watching from our deck.

The black cat is Dixie, the stray is light tan and white. Don't know if it's a male or female but I think it's a girl because she's (I'm saying she until I know better) she is calm, quiet, and seems gentle. Just when it was going to get interesting some friends of mine walked up on the deck and off ran the stray into the woods.

Lets talk about Gypsy

I have another cat I don't talk about much because she wasn't really my cat but my granddaughters. She too just had a litter at a very young age so I hung onto every word my grandchild said about the progress of my Little Girl. This other cats name is Gypsy, named rightly so because she was a stray that came and went. My granddaughter did not take good care of Gypsy because she was having marital problems and the fact that she had baby's, I confiscated her, got her fixed plus shots, lots of good food and placed all her youngins in nice homes. So yes, I think she is now my cat along with Little Girl. They do get along just fine which helped me to make a quick decision to keep her.
